Terms of Service
Effective: beta period · Last updated: July 2026
1. The service
Termalin is a desktop SSH client with optional cloud features (account sync, session-recording storage, a web cabinet) at termal.in. By creating an account or using the cloud features you agree to these terms. The desktop app works without an account; these terms then apply only to your use of the software.
2. Beta
Termalin is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed; data-loss bugs are possible despite our best efforts. Keep independent backups of anything critical (your SSH keys most of all).
3. Your account
- You are responsible for your account credentials and for your master password. We cannot recover data encrypted with a lost master password.
- You must provide a working email address (used for verification and password reset only).
- One person per account; teams get team plans.
4. Acceptable use
Termalin is a tool for accessing systems you are authorized to access. You agree not to use it, or our cloud, to:
- access computers or accounts without authorization, or test the security of systems you don't own or lack written permission to test;
- host, transmit or store unlawful content through the service;
- probe, overload, or disrupt the service itself, or attempt to access other users' data (their content is encrypted anyway — see the security page);
- resell the service without an agreement with us.
We may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in the above.
5. Plans & payment
A free tier exists and will remain through and after the beta. Paid tiers unlock higher limits (sync devices, recording count/retention, future features). Prices, including any beta discounts or one-time licenses, are shown at purchase time. Billing terms (renewal, cancellation, refunds) are stated on the pricing page and form part of these terms.
6. Your content
Everything you store through Termalin remains yours. You grant us only the license required to store and transmit your (encrypted) data in order to operate the service. We claim no rights to your terminal sessions, keys, or hosts.
7. Software
The desktop app is licensed, not sold, for your use with the service. You may not redistribute modified builds under the Termalin name in a way that misleads users about their origin (see also the update-signing model on the security page).
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR $0 ON THE FREE TIER). WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST DATA CAUSED BY A LOST MASTER PASSWORD.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time (app or web cabinet); this permanently removes your server-side data. We may terminate accounts that violate section 4, with notice where practical.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
