Termalin's sync is built in and sealed: hosts, keys and command history are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your master password before anything is uploaded. Termalin ships a real MCP server in two forms. A hosted endpoint lets Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor sign in and reach the hosts you choose keylessly — through an outbound Connector, with per-connection command rules and an audit log. The in-app MCP lets an agent open its own sessions or step into yours, while a key custodian signs on its behalf, so it never holds a key — you watch every move in the grid, and each agent action is marked in the recording. Tabby can speak MCP through a community plugin, but the hosted, keyless, governed endpoint is a different thing.

What Tabby does brilliantly — and no lock-in here.
A genuine word of respect: Tabby is free, MIT-licensed and endlessly customizable — plugins and themes install right from Settings, it keeps your SSH secrets in a built-in encrypted vault, and it's a lovely everyday terminal for local shells as much as remote ones. If that's what you're after, use it happily. Termalin earns its place when SSH is the day job — and there's no lock-in either way: it imports hosts from an ~/.ssh/config, a CSV, PuTTY or MobaXterm, and exports back to an SSH config or CSV any time.
